If you are into fishing, you may want to charter a boat at the Frankfort Marina. If you bring a boat, there is a public boat launching two blocks down the street (from Betsie Bay House) to be on Lake Michigan. If you are looking to get onto Crystal Lake with your boat, there is a public boat landing just a few miles away to launch.
Betsie Valley Trail
Betsie Bay House is just down the road from the bike trail.
Betsie Valley Trail — Start at Mineral Springs Park in downtown Frankfort and ride nine miles on a mostly smooth trail to Beulah. At M115, the trail turns to hard-packed gravel. If you have a mountain bike, you can continue from Beulah on to Thompsonville. Great for walking and running, too.
Ice Cream Shop
Everyone who stays at Betsie Bay House enjoys our local ice cream shops! The Cool Spot of Frankfort is located in the beautiful downtown area, where you will find a quaint ice cream store. Serving smiles and sweets to all generations alike!
Canoe Rental
Riverside Canoe Rental. The Upper Platt River flows around the town of Honor. The upper portion of the river is better suited for more experienced canoeists; the lower portion is slower-paced for family-style canoeing and flows through the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore to Lake Michigan.
Point Betsie Lighthouse
The Point Betsie Lighthouse, Benzie County's most famous landmark, is located on the Lake Michigan shore of the county just south of the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore and just north of Frankfort, Michigan. Point Betsie is the second most photographed lighthouse in the USA, and likely the most visited attraction in Benzie County.
